Freedom of Speech and Religion are threatened in America
SANTA FE, NM (By Jon Garrido, Jon Garrido News) February 19, 2013 — Robert Spencer reports in his book, The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam, “A Muslim Background Believers Convention, a Christian gathering sponsored by several groups, including the Baptist General Association of Virginia: noted "the convention kept registration and entrance process under tight security to protect participants, many of whom say they face death threats or ostracism from their families for leaving the Islamic faith. Converts from Islam to Christianity spoke publicly only under assumed names, for fear of becoming the newest victims of global jihad.”
Spencer writes, “As we have seen, in traditional Islamic law, when a Muslim converts to another faith, it can bring a death sentence. This is not, mind you, "extremist" Islam. It is Islamic mainstream, based on a statement of Muhammad: Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him." (Sahih Bukhari, Volume 9, Book 84, Number 57).”
Shocking as it may seem, this is validated in Sharia Law for Non-Muslims, Center For The Study Of Political Islam apostasy means to leave Islam; for a Muslim to leave Islam is a capital crime, punishable by death.
Apostasy from Islam:
When a person who has reached puberty and is sane, voluntarily apostatizes from Islam, he deserves to be killed.
Hadith and early history of Islam after Mohammed's death: When Mohammed died, entire tribes wanted to leave Islam. The first wars fought by Islam were against these apostates, and thousands were killed.
No punishment is too great for the apostate. If they break their covenant, then war should be waged against the leaders of kufr (infidelity).
Their Qur’an dictates this as stated in Qur’an 9:11 verse:
Here "covenant breaking" in no way can be construed to mean "breaking of political covenants." Rather, the context clearly determines its meaning to be "confessing Islam and then renouncing it." Thereafter the meaning of "fight the heads of disbelief" can only mean war should be waged against the leaders instigating apostasy.
All this and much more can be confirmed by Robert Spencer in The Political Incorrect Guide to Islam and The Complete Infidel’s Guide to the Quran, “Those who are not killed are otherwise pressured. Mr. Nobel an organizer of “Muslim Background Believers Convention” has felt this firsthand: He was contacted by his embassy and told to repent. Otherwise, expect not to return back home with his family. Another convert, Dania Smith feared being ostracized spoke of not telling her family because she would be disowned, or killed.”
One realizes apostasy is especially tough for today's secular society to phantom. Nonetheless Christian converts are forced to live in fear of retribution from other Muslims because U. S. law enforcement officials have been turning a blind eye.
Freedom of conscience should be a concern of everyone who confesses an interest in human rights. The human right organizations should be first to defend these people. American government and law enforcement officials should rush to their aid in the name of freedom.
Robert Spencer explains in his article, “Muslim Peril in a New Faith Jihad Watch:” It is rare for converts to be killed in America because of their faith. However; many face ostracism from their families or denial of entrance to their former countries. To avoid punishment, many converts don't tell their families they have left Islam. However, Christian faith teaches its followers to obey the command, "Go ye into the world and preach the Gospel to every creature," as set out in the Gospel of St. Mark (16:15) which can be distressing to converts who cannot be open to their new found faith. Many converts say Muslim Background Believers Convention offers a chance for fellowship with other Christians in similar circumstances. Because of a political correct stranglehold on discussion of Islam and shady groups like CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) claiming victim status for American Muslims, neither rights groups nor our government have noticed the converts even exist.”
Oddly enough this issue is more common than we want to admit. Ayaan Hirsi Ali recently reported in her article: The Global War on Christians in the Muslim World, “From one end of the Muslim world to the other, Christians are being murdered for their faith.” Ayaan Hirsi Ali founder of “The AHA Foundation” works to protect and reinforce the basic rights and freedoms of women and girls.
She suggests, “We so often hear about Muslims as victims of abuse in the West and combatants in Arab Spring’s fight against tyranny. But, in fact, a wholly different kind of war is underway, an unrecognized battle costing thousands of lives. Christians are being killed in Islamic world because of their religion. It is a rising genocide which ought to provoke global alarm. However, the portrayal of Muslims as victims or heroes is at best partially accurate. In recent years violent oppression of Christian minorities has become norm in Muslim-majority nations stretching from West Africa, Middle East to South Asia and Oceania. In some countries it is governments and their agents who have burned churches and imprisoned parishioners. In others, rebel groups and vigilantes have taken matters into their own hands, murdering Christians and driving them from regions where their roots go back centuries.”
Sad as it may seem, Ayaan feels, “The media’s reticence on this subject no doubt has several sources. One may be fear of provoking additional violence. Another is most likely an influence of lobbying groups such as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, a kind of United Nations of Islam centered in Saudi Arabia, and Council on American-Islamic Relations. Over the past decade, these and similar groups have been remarkably successful in persuading leading public figures and journalists in the West to think of each and every example of perceived anti-Muslim discrimination as an expression of a systematic and sinister derangement called Islamophobia.
This is a term meant to elicit the same moral disapproval as xenophobia or homophobia, but a fair-minded assessment of recent events and trends leads to a conclusion the scale and severity of Islamophobia pales in comparison with the bloody Christophobia currently coursing through Muslim-majority nations from one end of the globe to another. The conspiracy of silence surrounding this violent expression of religious intolerance has to stop. Nothing less than the fate of Christianity and ultimately American freedom of religions is at stake.
This phenomenal conversion from Islam to Christianity is happening in other Muslim countries. Joel C. Rosenberg writes in his book Inside the Revolution, “There are many converts from Islam to Christianity taking place daily in Iran, Egypt, Syria and other Muslim countries. Some statistics indicate 667 Muslims convert to Christianity every hour, 16,000 Muslims convert to Christianity every day, with 6 million Muslims converting every year. There is definitely a noticeable trend of Muslims turning to Christ. Converts feel it is worth the enormous risks to find eternal life not found in Islam.”
Ibn Warraq, author of Why I Am Not a Muslim, has been criticized by other Muslims for writing this book and rarely appears in public because of death threats. He feels the threat of losing our right to freedom of speech and religion is very real.
He writes: “After having overcome fascism, Nazism, and Stalinism, the world now faces a new totalitarian global threat: Islamism. We writers, journalists, intellectuals, call for resistance to religious totalitarianism and for promotion of freedom, equal opportunity and secular values for all."
Robert Spencer, Ayaan Hirsi Ali and many scholars like Ibn Warraq are sending a clarion call for America to wake up before it is too late.
